ISSUE #11 Summer 2018

Come and join us for our Kaleidoscope Issue - a celebration of colour. Vibrant, bold and beautiful… Stunning images, challenging words, awesome design. The magazine diving deserves!

Why are coral reefs so colourful. What do the marine animals actually see? Why are 30 per cent of the reef's fish bright yellow? Douglas David Seifert discovers some fascinating answers to these questions and many more. Plus an absolutely dazzling portfolio of photographs. The only feature you will have to read with your sunglasses on.

Hammerhead heaven: an exclusive extract from Costa Rica Blue a wonderful new book by the Undersea Hunter team focussing on the main attraction of Cocos Island and the iconic scalloped hammerhead sharks.

Check out the best Exotic Marine Life Hotel - Louise Murray visits Walindi in PNG and chats to the scientists studying some of the world's best reefs and their abundant residents.

Skin tight: we look at the best wetsuits for the travelling diver.

The latest entry in DIVE's Miscellany of Marine Curios - the horseshoe crabs which are being decimated so we can use their blue blood to test for endotoxins. Older than dinosaurs, they have ten eyes, seven pairs of legs, can see UV light and are more closely related to spiders than crabs!
